We (along with most of Australia it seems!) are loving ‘My Kitchen Rules’ at the moment.
Even with the tears and tantrums the amazing food they produce leave us feeling quite inspired to get creative in the kitchen.
So if you suddenly find youself hosting a dinner party for a few friends here are our must have tips for ensuring there are no dramas on the night and everything runs smoothly!
Invitations & RSVPS
- One of the most important things we have learnt from MKR is be prepared. Be sure to send out invitations early so you can gauge guest numbers and ensure you buy the right amount of food and drinks.
Plan the Menu
- What is the one of the most common mistakes? Planning a complicated and timely menu. Keep it simple and think about the season and weather so you can take advantage of your local fresh produce.
Make Sure You Have Enough Tableware
- The last thing you want to be doing in between courses is washing up dirty plates because you don’t have enough for each course. Think about hiring dinnerware and glassware for the occasion. Party hire is simple, affordable and in most cases can even be delivered to your door!
Make a DETAILED Shopping List
- There’s nothing worse than spending hours at the supermarket to come home and realise you have forgotten some ingredients. Make sure you have a shopping list ready with all ingredients and more importantly all the right quantities.
Our final tip is for the day of your dinner party. Give yourself plenty of time and prepare anything in advance that can be. That way you can sit back, relax and enjoy your company!
